Benefits of flu!
In Islamic teachings, flu and cold are mentioned as blessings upon human beings.
In another word, we are told that flu increases your body’s immunity and it prevents serious genetic issues.
In numerous sources it is quoted from Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.H) that:
الزكام جند من جنود الله عز وجل يبعثه على الداء فينزله إنزالا
Flu is a soldier from Allah’s army which is sent upon a disease to cure it perfectly.
Or
لا تكرهوا الزكام فإنه أمان من الجذام
Do not feel bad about flu as it is a protection from leprosy.
This Hadith and similar Ahadith refer to defence and immunity which is probably related to our immune system. Therefore cold and flu is not something to worry about and to seek treatment for it immediately but better we wait a few days for the body to deal with it.
The common flu starts from head then goes down to nose running, sore throat and if it hasn’t yet removed it can settle in the chest and cause coughs especially with mucus.
Islamic solution is first of all: cover your head with natural material made hats like wool
Secondly if you got the flu, use sneezing powder to dry up the moist and detoxify the head and sinus
So if your house is not warm enough in the cold season, make sure you keep your feet and head warm and if you’re going to be exposed to cold wind then covering your stomach and back is essential.
